Century, Inc. formally Century Associates, was started by Dwight Grove, President of Grove Manufacturing Company, Shady Grove, Pennsylvania. Originally an investment club, Century got its name from the 100 members who made up the club. As with most investment clubs, it floundered with only the stockbroker making any money. In 1956 H. Duane Kinzer, a grove employee, was given eight shares of stock in an effort to change the downward direction. Century, Inc. started leasing equipment to Grove Manufacturing and got its' start in the leasing business. Century, Inc. also doing business as Century Leasing Company provides lease financing for businesses and individuals for varied types of equipment, trucks, autos, etc. In addition, Century, Inc. owns and manages residential and commercial properties within Greencastle and surrounding areas. The company is now family controlled and day to day operations are run by the owner's son, Jason Kinzer, the vice president of the company.
